There has been a lot of fallacy that the elderly should not have fun. People believe that the old should be left at home all by themselves as others are going out. This habit should be stopped.

The aged should be given an opportunity to be happy for the gift of life that the Almighty has been bestowed upon them. One of the reasons why people believe that the aged should be left at home as the other people go to have fun is because they claim that there are no activities that the aged can engage in.

There is a wide range of activities that can be performed by the aged. There are many active games that we can play with our loved one. There are very many advantages of playing active games as we age. One of the sport game is playing golf, golf is a game that requires very minimal body energy to perform. The game is very friendly even to the aging. Another game that is played calmly is tennis. Swimming is an active exercise that the aged should consider undertaking. The advantages of participating in intense exercise are very may.

Besides active exercises there are other activities that the aged can take part in. This includes puzzle games. This games can be played by people of all the age groups. These games are convenient for people that are bored of being in the house and need to socialize. Socialization prevents people from wallowing in despair. Among these games are poker, cranium, bingo, etc. To make the games more exciting and to encourage competition people can play bingo for money.

The aging can also derive pleasure and happiness from participating in things they love doing. A hobby being something that one is comfortable doing and enjoys doing it. Exploiting once hobby makes one feel lively and useful. Everybody wants to feel as if they are constructing in the society, therefore by enabling the elderly realize their hobbies we give them an opportunity of feeling gainful in the society. The list of hobbies that one can try is endless, among them is knitting, etc.

To improve the mood, participating in outdoor activities the best solution. Being in the house all day with nothing to do apart from watching television can get us to feel all gloomy. As a result it is essential to change the surrounding to enhance our mood and joy. Some of these outdoor activities include, nature walking, gardening, boating, walking along the beach, etc.

Throwing parties for our grannies is a way of pleasing them. There has been a belief that parties are just meant for the young should be stopped. Throwing parties for the elderly is also of making them feel satisfied.
